Catapleite - Na2ZrSi3O9.2H2O - Hexagonal
Description: Catapleite is a complex sodium zirconium silicate forming yellow to brownish crystals in alkalic igneous rocks.
MARATHON COUNTY: Catapleite is reported from pegmatites in the Stettin pluton near Wausau, Wisconsin. Here it is a very rare mineral forming thin colorless crystals and clusters no more than 0.5 mm across in cavities in pegmatites. (Falster, 1987; Falster et. al., 2000).
